Why don't you treat yourself and your family to a fabulous budget trip London this year? A weekend in London on a budget has never been better value. Be green, go by train and don’t worry about finding a parking spot. Enjoy the wonders of the nations capital in comfort. Enjoy shopping trips down Oxford Street and a coffee while you watch the world go by. See some sites with a trip around Westminster.

Value for Money in the Off-Season

Value for money is has never been so good in London as it is now. Prices for hotels go much lower in the off-season. So, even if you are on a tight budget, now is the perfect time to do it. You can stay in Westminster London, in the Euston area for less than 50 pounds per night.

Train Ticket Prices are Lower and They are Greener

Booking train tickets in advance and during off season are also very good value. Even when you want a bit of luxury. Upgrading to first-class tickets can still be done for cheap prices. The further you book ahead, they cheaper you tickets can become. Recently we went for a weekend and even then, we booked one week ahead. This is a good idea as we managed to get from to London and back for under 50 pounds. For us that was less than 1/2 price. Also, you can reserve a seat on the train.

Another thing is, you will be doing less damage to the planet by keeping you carbon footprint down. All train journeys do this for you. Your personal emissions are kept low as so many people are using the same train.

Also you will be traveling in relative comfort, relaxing while you surf the net, have a coffee and read that book you have been meaning to read all the way there. Traveling in a car to and in London is much harder work. It is not just having to find somewhere to park, but also London's traffic can be terrible. Do yourself, your family and the planet a big favour. Use the train and underground or buses to get around when you are there.

Luxury on a Budget

If you are looking for something a little more comfortable, then cheaper first class tickets are also available. Also hotels of four and five star ratings will be good value as well. All come sown when peak season has ended. Central four star hotels can be as low as 150 pounds per night in the off-season. Also, don't forget, when you find a hotel that is at a really good price, book it quick! Hotels in London Ltd bookings are contracts between hotels and you. So, if they have make mistakes and give you a rooms at low low prices, they will have to give you what they promised you. The lowest price you have booked at is the price you pay for your room.

Oxford Street Shopping Mecca

When in London get ready to shop. The shopping Mecca of Oxford Street always has a sale on somewhere. this is especially the case when London shopping budgets are tight.

Oxford Street is a much longer than you would think, being bout 2km long. It not all shops but most of it is! To get there by tube you can use one of four underground stations. Marble Arch is to the West, Bond Street and Oxford Circus are in central and Tottenham Court road is to the East. Stores here range from Selfridges to Primark at the West. Lots of world famous brand names in the middle. Nice boutiques, Waterstones and BHS are to the East end of it. There are also lots of splendid pubs, cafes, bars, restaurants and fast food outlets all along the way. If you like shopping, you are going to love Oxford Street London.

Free Tourist Attractions in Westminster

In London Westminster there are many once in a lifetime attractions that are a must see. Some, if not most of them are free. Try a walk down and across the River Thames. From here you can get a great view of many iconic London landmarks. If you like to walk and tour, Embankment tube stop is a good choice. Just outside toward the river is the Golden Jubilee foot bridge. Crossing here leads allows you first view of the London Eye. On sunny days there are stalls all the way along the river. They will be selling the usual memorabilia, snacks, coffee and fast foods. The open green space of the Jubilee Gardens is a welcome sight. You can see the wheel from here and relax with a cup of tea or coffee and a something to eat. Then, when you have seen the queue for the Millennium Wheel, just think how much you saved by walking passed it.

View the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben from the South Bank

As you walk by Westminster Bridge is in front of you. The underpass keeps you on the Thames' South Bank. Here looking across the river Thames you can see the Westminster Palace, or Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The best time to see this attractions is during the late morning or early in the afternoon. About then the sun hits the buildings wonderfully. This gives a wonderful view and photo opportunity. With luck you will get a river boat passing by for that picture of a lifetime. As you pass over the bridge Big Ben rises up in front of you. Make sure you stop again for a picture, before making you way back to Westminster tube station.
