Good stuff: Closeness to the central/key areas and activities in South Kensington and neatness of the room. In addition, I found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Bad stuff: The room was very small although okay for one person for a short time, the remote control was not functioning, and the breakfast (cereal, orange juice, tea/cofee and two slices of toasted bread) was too basic for the amount of money that I paid.
Overall: Overall, this was okay for a few nights. I think one gets the value for the money - I did not expect more.

Good stuff: The bathroom, the possibility to make tea or coffee in the room, the possibility to keep window open. And that it was quite close to an underground station.
Bad stuff: The fridge wasn't cold. Poor quality of tea served at breakfast. You expect better quality of tea served in England. Besides, it was difficult to operate the mix of hot/cold water in the shower.
Overall: I would like to known that we had to pay when we checked in, instead of paying at checkout. I would also have like to known that smoking was actually permitted in the breakfast room - I don't smoke myself and I think it is inappropriate to allow smoking in a breakfast room. The staff were also smoking in the breakfast room, which I find even more inappropriate and also an impolite thing to do in front of guests. I would not recommend this hotel to allergic or non-smoking friends or family (and very few of them smoke).
