 Very pretty Victorian hotel, family run and wonderfully close to Hyde Park. Closest tube and rail station is Paddington giving easy access to the West End, City with good links to North and South attractions such as Wembley and Earls Court. Perfect for the business or leisure traveller. Just 15 minutes to Heathrow by express train.
We are a family run establishment and are proud to present our home from home, decorated in Victorian theme coupled with a simplistic and modern feel. Whether on business or off on a shopping spree we are happy to make you feel very welcome and relaxed while you stay with us. All our rooms are en-suite with satellite TV, tea and coffee maker, hairdryer, trouser press and phone.
Just a few minutes away you can take your morning stroll in Hyde Park, meander round Serpentine Lake, visit the gallery there or if you feel a little more energetic go horse riding or roller blading!! Once you have breakfasted in our lovely breakfast room you are then ready to explore Londons delights.
From Paddinton tube you have easy access to the West End - for shopping you can start at Bond Street, work your way along to Oxford Street, round to Regent Street and then across to Piccadilly - hundreds of retailers - some for those everyday items and quite a few for those designer and special occasions. Lots of offers in summer and winter and lunch is a must at Fortnum and Mason on Piccadilly or Afternoon Tea - either way you will delight in the finer things in life and enjoy a store with golden gifts, fine foods and wonderful wines.
Entertainment - theatreland is a little further along and you will always find a good show with superb actors. Why not visit Covent Garden where you can enjoy street entertainment for a small contribution to the artist and be part of a crowd who join in, laugh together and generally enjoy the moment.

Good stuff: Friendly, unpretentious hotel close to transport and very central. Good breakfast (hot tea!)and my room was spacious as I had booked for a single and they gave me a double at the same price because no singles were available
Bad stuff: Broken shower and no complimentary shampoo
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: I enjoyed my stay as the hotel is small and the staff friendly. The standard of accommodation - furnishings, equipment, etc - was good (I have stayed in similar-priced hotels which have been much shabbier and unattractive). It was also extremely quiet as my room looked into a light well, not over a street and is situated between two other buildings. It is in an excellent position and I would certainly stay there again.

Bad stuff: facilities:hairdryer we borrowed from reception, difficult to control the temperature of water for bath.

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: quite good, very friendly staff. The room had a rather unpleasant smell (no idea what that was...bad drainage ?), no heater in the (small) bathroom

Bad stuff: room door lock was too flimsy by normal North American standards
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: The online hotel info said Mastercard was accepted..no mention of a 5% extra fee for paying with it...only learned of the extra 5% when I checked in and desk clerk asked me how I was going to be paying.
