Good stuff: Staff helpful, hotel clean and in good order (only minor defects, like my towel rail fell down), good value for money.

Overall: The accommodation was basic, but that was what was expected. Staff were helpful, the hotel was clean and everything worked.

Bad stuff: on the upper part of the duvet there was a huge ugly stain. when i showed it to the employee he said " it was a spot" and that it was cleaned every 4 days(disgusting). I was over charged by 70 euros, the reservation system was exremely informal and the employee had me mixed up with another guest. I was refunded the 70 euros in cash- the employee didnt have the authority to refund me on my credit card. he demanded (before the cash refund) that i return the following day at midday so that his boss could authorise the refund. exrememly informal and cheeky. he wanted to keep my printed details of the stay, which clearly stated who i was and how much i owed. he informally referred to his laptop on the couch and the fact that he didnt have printer. did he have access to my details? i dont know. there were no towels in the room. the toilet between the first and second floors wouldnt flush properly- the handle was loosly fitted and had no "pull". on one evening i used the payphone. while phoning i heared the dailing tone of someone else trying to ring. strange i thought, the phone is badly wired. the following minute a woman who came out of the living quarters of the hotel came up to me, ignorant of the fact that i was talking,and having a private conversation rudely inturrupted and asked me how long i was going to be. this i found to be exremely rude and impolite. the overall stay was unpleasant, no simple please or thank you. no welcome

Overall: i will not recccomed my friends to stay here. communication was poor and service was shoddy and informal and there were aspects such as the toilet that were unhygenic.there were heated towel rails in the bathroom but they didnt appear to be working, fixtures were old

Good stuff: The hotel was very clean and staff really friendly and flexible. Our room was next to the bathroom, so we had it practically for our own use.

Bad stuff: No heating in the bathroom, it was pretty cold there. Modest breakfast, but apparently this is a standard in London for this price. However, it would be good if they put a tea/coffee express machine or boiling water available for people for the whole day.

Bad stuff: It was a little in need of a redecoration.

Overall: A friendly budget guest house - perfect for somewhere to lay your head down for a good price!
