Good stuff: tiny but clean room & bathroom.good for short stay.excellent position.no luxury,no bad surprises either.and cool breakfast.
Bad stuff: little noisy at night and hot - but there's no place for airco in the room.so simply don't put cover over night - and have enough alcohol before sleeping :-) Could be cheaper - but it's London :-(
Overall: Expected much worse - but the quality was eventually good surprise. Maybe we were just lucky. Enjoyed our stay anyway.

Good stuff: The outside front of the hotel was very nice to look at. Pity it didn't extend to the inside!!
Bad stuff: The Hotel would need to be re-decorated throughout. the rooms would need to be enlarged. I expect that this would mean merging some of the rooms or taking down thin walls that split a room in the first place. There was no rest area ie. a lounge or anthing of that nature, the dining area was far too small to hold the full quota of guests. we had to go down to the dining room 3 time for our breakfast as there where not enough seats, (25 seats for 50 rooms). the dining room was also very grubby, with tiles falling off the wall and some had not been replaced. the windows were in a very bad state of repair. they would also need replaced.
Overall: We were very disappoionted with the Belgrove Hotel, from the outside the hotel is very pretty but when you arrive in you get a totally different view. The entrance hall is just that, no bigger than a normal family home's entrance hall. I would not like to see the staff trying to check in big parties, the entrance hall would only hold about 7/8 people without luggage comfortably. We got checked in quite quickly and smoothly buy when we got to our room we were shocked to see that the room was so small that we had to move around the room in single file. I went back to reception to ask to be moved and they did this without a problem but the 2nd room wasn't much better. the wallpaper was hanging off the walls and the windows were in a terrible state. The cabinet nearly fell over when i lent on it. When we went down to the dining area for breakfast we were sent away again as there were not enough seats. It took us 3 attempts to get aseat andsome food. This hotel boasts to having 50 rooms, this would be approx 100 people should the hotel be full. there are only 25 seats in the dining room. the general state of this room was very bad. the tiles were falling off the alls and to be frank it was just plain dirty. It put me off my food and i went away with just a slice of toast and some tea. Instead of nice tasting pure orange with your breakfast we had to make do with very much diluted down cordial! We were in London for a leisure weekend... the bad state of our hotel could have spoilt it but we didn't let it. I think it says a lot when we were only actually in the hotel to sleep, we were glad to leave it and do not plan to return to the hotel Belgrove or recommend it.

Good stuff: Position close to the station
Bad stuff: Possible air conditioning for the summer. Room 29 with the inner door made for claustrophopbic conditions in that heat.

Good stuff: Clean room, very well located across from Kings Cross rail station (3 minute walk).
Bad stuff: Extremely tiny room (even by European standards), stairs could be an issue for older folks.
Overall: As I was essentially just looking for a bed with an en suite bathroom near to Kings Cross, the Belgrove was a perfect choice. If you would be spending any significant amount of time in your room (or plan an extended stay), you might want to do some further online searching for a hotel with larger rooms. The hotel met my minimal needs for this trip.

Good stuff: The bed-sheets were clean and staff in morning were nice.
Bad stuff: Generally hotel run down and dirty. Room far too small and furniture damaged, curtains too thin. Lock on bedroom door not secure.
Overall: When I arrived staff member asked me to pay but I thought I'd paid with debit card. Room far too small and general decor of room and hotel very poor. Curtains so thin that room was light by 5.30 am and I couldn't get back to sleep. Television didn't even have channel 5. Walls too thin in rooms so can hear everything. Whole hotel needs decorated.
However, sheets and bathroom clean and maybe that's what you get in London for £40. Although breakfast was self-service so not fresh, I could take as much as I wanted. Tea bags were very cheap and didn't taste of tea.

Good stuff: It was a good rest for a hard day. It was practical, clean, confortable and useful.
Bad stuff: Maybe it was a bit slight.
Overall: I would like to see a photo about the hotel inside.

Good stuff: Central location, great for tube links
Bad stuff: Basic accommodation, no tea/coffee making facility in room.
Overall: Dining room small; had to wait for a table at busy breakfast time. Minor points let down the standard. 24 hour reception is good.

Good stuff: The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was good and it was very convenient for the tube and trains.
Bad stuff: The room was very tiny, to the extent that you had to move cupboards to get into the shower and toilet and to get to the electric socket. It was extremely hot and I had to complain several times before they switched off the radiator. It was also a very noisy room and I specifically asked for a quiet room.
Overall: I would recommend this hotel as it is in London but with reservations. As London hotels go it wasn't too bad, but London in general is not good for lower budget hotels. Most are a rip off and charge far more than the value of the service they offer.

Bad stuff: room was fine but toilet and shower were quite small
Overall: The hotel was fine and the room was suitable for our needs, the breakfast was very good with plenty to eat and service was also good.I would stay in the same hotel again and certainly enjoyed my weekend in London.
