Also within walking distance are Hyde Park and Marble Arch, leading you onto Oxford Street where you can shop till you drop, or sample any of the restaurants and bars that lines it. Bad stuff: Room was ridiculously small, even by London standards, despite being described by you as 'spacious'. Flat screen tv didnt work and there was no fruit in the room despite it being shown on the reservation form. When i asked about the fruit the impression given was that i was being petty! and i had to insist that it be brought up.

Overall: Not a good hotel for the price. Only advantage is it is close to Paddington therefore handy for Heathrow, but there are plenty others in the area which are better value for money.

Good stuff: Room was clean, seemed newly decorated, well equipped. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast.Free paper.

Bad stuff: We were messed about on arrival. Tried to check in at hotel I had booked. We were directed to a different hotel. Then directed back to the original hotel! Room was too small to be a double. Couldn't even open the wardrobe properly. Breakfast was complimentary because of our check-in problems; if we had had to pay, we would have gone out because it is so expensive.

Overall: After check-in hiccup, generally very satisfactory apart from room being too small.
