Good stuff: The one and only positive note was King's Cross station is less than two minutes' walk.
Bad stuff: The reception staff didn't bother warning me that the TV cabling was being replaced; having been out of the country I had been looking forward to catching up with the new and relaxing before going to bed. The room was under the reception area, people were coming into the hotel at 3am and waking me up with all the noise they made. The toiled was hidden in an alcove less than 5' at its highest, unless I was extremely careful, I hit my head when trying to use it. The shower's temperature control was extremely uneven, and would change to scalding hot without any warning. While there was a kettle, the only tap in the room had a sign on advising it wasn't drinking water. The receptionist claimed that the sign was wrong and they just hadn't got round to removing them. The room safe didn't work; I'd wanted to lock my passport and tickets home away while I went out to find some dinner. When I complained to the front desk about the TV and safe, their attitude was it was all someone else's problem and didn't see why it would have a good idea to warn people of the issues when they were checking in. It was made obvious that the two girls there weren't going to make any effort to remedy any other issues which might have been raised. I have raised all of the above directly with Comfort Inn's customer services, but haven't even received an acknowledgement yet. This room cost me £115 for one night, I've stayed in more comfortable B&Bs for a third of that.
Overall: Truly awful.

Good stuff: price, convenience to railway & underground & bus routes
Overall: would like more choice of breakfast or variety day to day. Excellent provision in room of towels, tea/coffee etc. Clean welcome and convenient hotel
