Bad stuff: No deposit was requested, however the hotel pre-authoririses your card the night before reservation. I had no problem with this but for some reason my card didn't go through.
We arrived at 12.30 and was told by a very indifferent person on the desk that our reservation had been cancelled due to the problem with my card and that we should return at 3pm to see if a room would be available.
To say I was mightly annoyed is putting it mildly!!
I asked why we had to wait until 3pm, seeing as check out time is 11am and check in time 2pm. Also why didn't the hotel phone me when the card didn't go through. Again the attitude of the desk person was one of complete indifference despite us having a 6 year old with out a room for the night.
They did allow us to leave our overnight bag with them and also use the loo. The very narrow corridor to the loo was dark and dingy with dirty, frayed carpets. Cleanliness-wise the loo itself was just about ok but shampoo instead of handwash?
Although in a good location, the attitude of the staff is about as dull and drab as the hotel ... GIVE IT A MISS

Good stuff: Location. Offered complimentary breakfast for inconvenience
Bad stuff: Decor was poor, needed to be moved because room was uncleaned
Overall: Good location of hotel with easy access to most of London via tube. Had to be moved from the room we were initially placed because used coffee cups had not been removed from the room and replaced. The room we were first put in was very small and seemed like a spare room. We could notice this especially when moved to the second room which was much more spacious. We were offered complimentary breakfast for having had to move, and we were moved quickly and effectively. Overall, happy with service

Good stuff: THEY MOVED ME UPON REQUEST TO A BETTER ROOM WITHOUT AN EXCESS CHARGE
Bad stuff: THEY GAVE ME A BASEMENT ROOM IN WHICH THE PEDESTRIAN LOOKED INTO THE ROOM FROM THE WINDOW IN THE MORNING. THE BED LINEN WAS FILTHY AND THE ROOM TO WARM AND STUFFY. AN AWFUL FIRST IMPRESSION.

Overall: We checked in on friday but was told due to a problem at the hotel due to a leakage IN THE BEDROOMS that we could not stay at the hotel ,we were taxied to another hotel at their expense and was put up in a 4star hotel which was very good and we were pleased.So i am sorry that we cannot comment on the Eden plZA HOTEL BUT THE SERVICE WAS GOOD and the hotel looked and felt very coosy. Well done for looking after us

Good stuff: central location in London, breakfast
Bad stuff: indifferent staff ; filthy out of order shower room;
Overall: Check-in took ages, rude receptionist ignored us and carried on with paper work. Size of twin room very narrow, problem with second reserved twin room, ending in allocation of 2 single rooms. Bathroom sink blocked, shower cubicle and curtain filthy with fungus growth; hair dryer, lamp in room and TV not in working order. Hair dryer was fixed, rest was not. Overall appearance of hotel could be upgraded with a lick of paint. Big plus was breakfast (continental included in price)in light airy room. Staff there foreign (not too sure whether they understood English --> could do with training) but were friendly and trying.

Good stuff: Proximity to Museums and transport.
Booking in system was efficient and well organised.
Breakfast was excellent.
Bad stuff: Cleaners were wanting access to the room at 9 am on Sunday when check out time was 11am. After a night out, another hour would have been welcome!
Overall: We enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff were friendly.
The location was excellent, expecially for Museums. Local area had plenty of choices for restaurants of different kinds - Italian, Chinese, Indian etc.

Good stuff: Nothing. Paid bill for one night and checked out immediately and looked for new hotel.
Bad stuff: Rooms smaller than shown on internet. Bathrooms too small. Under renovation. Whole place looks depressing.
Overall: I'd like to have a clear picture of what the room and bathroom are like. What is shown and described on internet are terribly overstated. They do not have all amenities they said they have - like cable TV, and whatever other things they said they have look so rundown I did not want to touch them for fear of them breaking apart. I chose this hotel because of the location and the amenities they said they had. I eventually paid a lot more for the new hotel. Perhaps this is what one can expect for this price?
