Your nearest tube station is actually Southwark on the Jubilee line. This is one stop away from the tube at Waterloo where you can get further on the Bakerloo, Northern and Waterloo and City lines as well

If you are an art lover than just a few minutes away you will find Tate Modern. In fact the best route to find it from us is North to the Thames. Then turn right and follow the river. This route will also take you to the Millennium Bridge and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Just across the river the other end of the Millennium Bridge is of course the wonderful St Paul's Cathedral. All of these attractions are easy to get to putting you in the heart of all the sightseeing the city has on offer really.

Also close by is London Bridge (take the kids to the Dungeons and remind them how lucky they are!), up to Tower Bridge and meander around St Katherines Docks where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch. If you want to see where all those important decisions are made then why not visit the Houses of Parliament and then pop in to Westminster Abbey to say a prayer! Lighter entertainment can be found in Covent Garden where you will find street performers, delightful tea rooms and browse around the international stalls where you are sure to find that perfect gift. The West End and theatre land offers a wealth of shops, live performances and international restaurants.

After a busy day return to your comfortable rooms, take in a movie or dine out in one of the fine restaurants close by.

Waterloo train and tube stations are nearby. It will take you about 15 minutes to walk to either.

Good stuff: The room was decent enough for a one night stay. It was clean & the facilities were good. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. She gave a very good first impression. The accommodation was of a good standard.

Bad stuff: I'd like to have got a better deal than �79 for 1 night's bed & breakfast, especially as the room was small and the breakfast was only Continental and was self-service.

Good stuff: I booked this hotel because of its proximity to the Globe and Tate Modern. Price was also a factor.

Bad stuff: Some of your desk staff were very pleasant and courteous. Others were quite brusque when answering queries. I feel a simple smile would have gone a long way to making us feel more welcome.

Overall: Our room was clean, comfortable, and good value for money. The hotel's proximity to the New Globe Theatre and to the Tate Modern gave us wonderfully easy access to both. The breakfast selections were very nice. The website's walking instructions from Southwark Tube station could be improved slightly - they weren't as easy to follow as they appeared to be. A better thumbnail map with all small side street names marked would have been helpful.
