Good stuff: Convenient location, good value for money, clean, had everything we needed for a short stay in an inexpensive hotel.
Bad stuff: Window sash needed replacing - window had to be propped open. Shower tray filled up and took a while to drain.
Overall: Having read previous reviews we knew what to expect, so when the window didn't open and the shower tray filled up and drained very slowly it was no big deal! The room was clean and the size was adequate. No problems with the bed and the furniture. We removed the duvet and just used the cover as the weather was so warm. The bathroom was compact but clean and well presented. The essential (for us) tea and coffee-making facilities were present although we always take our own coffee etc! The breakfast room was quite small. Don't expect a great breakfast. We were served with coffee/tea and toast and then it was a buffet-style breakfast of cereals, small pastries, fruit and fruit juice. We found the hotel staff to be quite pleasant. In summary, it was a small,no-frills,good value for money hotel in a quiet,well-situated location. We would stay here again.

Good stuff: Refer to comments below.
Bad stuff: Refer to comments below.
Overall: Breakfast was great each day and the room (and bathroom) was clean!! The location was also perfect given that it was a short walk to Paddington station and Kensington Gardens (there are also a number of places to eat in the area). The only complaint was that our window didn't stay open by itself - but no big deal.

Good stuff: Very friendly staff, clean room w/new bathroom, adequate breakfast.
Bad stuff: No telephone in the room, access (lobby and stairs) not very attractive.
Overall: Highly recommendable for young people and low budgedet travellers. If you're 35+ and have a better budget, you may want to look for something else. It satisfies all the basics, but surely it is not one of those hotels where the stay is a lifetime experience by itself. Great value for the money (40 pounds x day).
