Good stuff: Upgrade to suite for �30. Hotel in good order, and overall decent value for money.

Bad stuff: Restaurant way too small and insufficient staff to service the tables. The queue for breakfast was ridiculous - it stretched to the main doors at the front of the hotel. We went back to our room for a cup of tea, checked out 25 mins later and there were still people in the queue who had been there when we went down the first time. The hotel is located in the middle of several Islington council estates, making the whole concept of a 4 star hotel in that location a little incongruous. We wouldn't have felt safe venturing out of the hotel on foot after dark.

Overall: Nothing to really complain about other than the situation at breakfast. The hotel was exactly what you'd expect from an upper end Thistle - clean, functional and decent value for money. I would stay here again if I was attending a function or was on business.

Overall: The staff reaction to complaints of the cold were treated with complete indifference.No effort was made to try and improve our stay at all.A complaint was made at time of departure.
