Alternatively head East in to Knightsbridge, Chelsea and the shopping and coffee shop scene. There are of course the famous stores of Harrods and Harvey Nichols to visit and revel in - this will easily take up a whole day - treat yourself in the Food Halls and view the fantastic Egyptian collection.
For those in search of culture and learning - there are three main museums to visit - the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum which sit behind the Royal Albert Hall where you can enjoy evening entertainment or take a daytime tour and then stop for a delightful lunch.
Hyde Park is just across the road and offers views of Kensington Gardens and Palace, boat trips on the Serpentine Lake, there's a restaurant and gallery and a band stand at the Hyde Park Corner end. A hop, skip and a jump and you are in Green Park and then across in Piccadilly where you will find the Ritz - time for afternoon tea and a little further along - Fortnum and Mason for those speciality teas, biscuits and luxurious food items. Absolutely fabulous.
