The Royal Observatory overlooking Greenwich Park was founded by King Charles II for the study of astronomy - highly interesting. There are a number of historical buildings. The Royal Naval College and its grounds are vast and the Painted Hall in the Royal Hospital is well worth viewing. Greenwich has some super restaurants and has a real village feel. The Market on Fridays and weekends has a wonderful display of international foods, arts, crafts and clothing to name but a few delights on offer.

Cancellation Policy

Good stuff: convenience for tube station and 02 dome.

Bad stuff: Poor condition of hotel room appalling facilities at breakfast: no room to sit down even!

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: Refurbishment was underway unfortunately this meant very few facilities.Clearly the bedroom needed completely re decorating and refitting. At breakfast there were not enough tables for everyone to sit down, people were taking trays back to their rooms. Staff few and far between to help. Checkout was in the same small space as the eating area.Chaos ensued. Although we were sent a letter 2 weeks before to inform us, it was not made clear the extent of the disruption and left us no time to arrange other accomodation. Like others we had tickets for events booked way in advance and had little choice but to go ahead with the booking. There were only very cursary appologies for the inconvienience.

Good stuff: value for money

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: Staff very helpfull on a arrival but a bit more local knowledge would of been helpfull. Overall good.
