At the Lonsdale in Bloomsbury we like to think of ourselves as a more traditional B&B than a hotel. Privately owned we pride ourselves on giving you that home away from home feeling when you stay with us. Friendly staff good service and a reasonable price what more do you need for your stay in London? (Webmasters note : You get what you pay for)

We have a large selection of rooms available many of which do have en-suite shower and toilet facilities.

When you are looking for where to stay in Bloomsbury you cant really get a better spot then where we are. Close by the wonders of the British Museum are definitely worth a look and be careful you can spend a day in there and still not see half of it. The West End and it theatres are close by so if you like a show we are just right for that too. Nice restaurants public houses and the river Thames are all within easy walking distance from us. You cant go wrong at this price and this location really can you .

Good stuff: the hotel is very well situated in London and not so expensive.

Bad stuff: the phone and the fridge did not work and the toilets were not in the room.

Bad stuff: the facilitation in this hotel is very old and not clean. The food is terrible.

Good stuff: Easy to get to from airport, easy to find from Russell Square

Bad stuff: there was not a shower working had to use a tub and share yuck!

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: The staff was polite but not really friendly or informative. The sheets and towels were clean. Could i expect more at the price?

Good stuff: Warm welcome, good breakfast, good service, reception open 24 hrs and not having to keep my key on me.Comfortable bed and good size room.

Bad stuff: My shower did'nt have hot water. Hotel interior could do with a spring clean and lick of new paint.

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: Altogether I enjoyed my stay. It was very convenient to my daily destination. I would have prefered a room above ground as it seemed a bit dark in the basement. I would use that hotel again. Thank you.

Good stuff: Got a slightly larger room for the same low price. Rooms smelled fresh despite being run down and were clean.

Bad stuff: No handle on the inside of a room's door, side table fell apart. Breakfast was only barely adequate.

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: You get what you pay for, stay was much better becuase staff was able to give us a triple and a double room for the 2 double bed room price. It was a bit run down but surprisingly clean and odor free. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Reviews we read had warned about the marginal state so we were prepared and not surprised. Getting the larger room with a double bed really helped the overall stay. The staff were very nice.

Good stuff: It was dirty and shabby and we had no TV working and after changing of our room because the first one was not acceptable, it was even bad.

Bad stuff: You book a room and you get a dark chamber...

Good stuff: Near Soho. The price.

Bad stuff: Lonsdale had no ensuite rooms, there was a baby with stinking diapers crawling in the recetion.The reception transferred me to Gresham hotel.The tv in the room had a very bad signal, the toilet seat was loose.

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: For £45 quid I didn't expect much, this is a hotel in a handy location for business, They just need to clean it and sort out the breakfast...terrible...
