Nights:  Rooms:

Situated in the heart of Manchester's contemporary city centre with a dash of Victorian and Edwardian architecture to remind you of a bygone age. We are a grade II listed building boasting some rather fine details and a classic example of the 1800's. Everything you could wish for right on your doorstep.

Once part of the cotton industry's famous warehouse we stand tall and proud in the city centre. Inside you will find our modern day Wave Bar and Rogue Bar - both popular meeting places - great for food, drinks and socialising. Our City culture for producing excellent musicians also means that we have some of the best DJs playing music later in the evening to add to that lively and electric atmosphere. Food glorious food - and there are plenty of choices - Jenny's Carvery, the traditional Crompton's French Restaurant and thats just within our hotel complex. If that's not enough then why not try one of nearly 700 restaurants in Manchester - everything from Conran's ZINC Restaurant (first one out of London) to Chinese, Indian, European and traditional English Cuisine.

G-Mex Exhibition Centre - everything from Commonwealth Wrestling to your favourite idol in concert - close to St Peter's Square. Chinatown where you will find that unusual gift or far off Eastern food.

With Victoria Station just a short stroll away and the metro tram system running right outside your door - there are any number of directions you can go in - over to the airport, across to Salford Quays or pop across to the Trafford Shopping Centre.

Good stuff: its position in the centre.
Bad stuff: one hour 10 mins in a queue to check in.
Overall: decor was good, position was good, staff were nice. the poor girl on reception looked bewildered with the non stop queue to check in.. there were 3 staff on. the hotel must have been fully booked for that night.

Good stuff: The whole presentation upon arriving was very clean, efficient and staff were very helpful. I needed information about a location for an interview and reception staff were more than helpful.
Bad stuff: nothing
Overall: Hotel was in an ideal position to the city centre, which was what I required. Parking was close by. Quality of room was high, breakfast and servise was very good. I would choose this hotel again.

Good stuff: Excellent central location.
Bad stuff: Staff (reception) could be a bit more friendly.
Overall: The room I was given was too small. The milk cartons in the room were out of date, so I did not make a cup of tea. The lifts were to small & slow. Also some of the staff at reception were grumpy. I did not complain about any of the above at the time as they were all not important to me. However,if I had been staying for say 7 nights I may then have said something.

Good stuff: Free wifi broadband, excellent service at reception. Cheaper rate when booking on-line.
Bad stuff: Long check-in line. Wall-to-wall carpets, prefer wooden floor, feels cleaner when many people share the same room year after year.

Good stuff: Very grand entrance!!
Bad stuff: The carvery restaurant - poor service and quality of food!
Overall: All in all a good stay. The room was a little cramped (rm 408); however clean and tidy with all the necessary facilities. We both agreed that the restaurant let the hotal down massively - the staff lacked personality and the food was overcooked and dry with little choice for both evening meals and breakfast. We paid £80 for a double room with evening 'a la carte' meal and breakfast - the evening meal was most certaintly not 'a la carte' standard (in fact very far from it!), which made the £80 a little overpriced! Would reccommend staying at the hotel but 'room only'.
