Good stuff: Clean comfortable room-excellent breakfast-ideal location about 150 m from Paddington station - Broadband available - helpful staff
Bad stuff: Room was very small but adequate for what we needed.Biggest complaint was that we were billed by Internet booking agency AND hotel-stil trying to get double payment reversed but staff are being helpful.
Overall: Ideal position - esp if coming from Heathrow via Heathrow express-Full breakfast added to the good value.

Good stuff: It was fair value, given the cost of staying in London. So close to Paddington, it made towing a huge case very easy. Walkable to Oxford Street. Mine was a quiet, clean room which was what I wanted.
Bad stuff: Toilet flush didn't work for me, but staff responded quickly and it worked for them. Some paint work needed in the bathroom.
Overall: I wanted a quiet, clean room in a safe space near to Paddington. This is what I got.

Good stuff: The location was very conveinient to the Paddinton Station, food, buses and internet stores.
Bad stuff: The en suite shower family was small and a little hard to manuver by U.S. standards.
Overall: The first family room for the 4 of us was old smelling and there was a cot for the 4th bed however when we asked to see another room they showed us to an actual 4 bed and fresh smelling room. It worked out great! The full English breakfasts were wonderful. The concierge was always very helpful and accomodating.

Bad stuff: heating extra blankets were provided but the radiator did not work and as the room was at the front of the hotel, with old wooden windows, it let a bit of a draft in.

Good stuff: Breakfast service.
Location.
Overall: The breakfast service offered a wide range of choices, especially for people who may not want the fried English breakfast every day. The room was adequately furnished with hair dryer and kettle. I also like the close location to Paddington Station. The staff were curteous and friendly. However, the single room and en-suite bathroom was extremely tiny and it was a challange to stay any length of time in the room. The lack of elevator made climbing up to my room on the third floor very difficult.

Good stuff: quiet, cosy
Bad stuff: i couldnt drag suitcase up four flights, so had to pay 1 quid to store
Overall: simple to book, prompt and courteous service, nonsmoking and quiet room as requested, convenient neighborhood. Shower was a bit primitive, impossible not to spill water. Shampoo wasnt supplied. Breakfast was genrous and delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. In general, No complaints, rare for me...

Good stuff: Easy access to Paddington station & excellent value for money
Bad stuff: en suite much too small!
Overall: The hotel was conveniently situated within easy access of Paddington station. It was clean, tidy and very comfortable. Staff were most welcoming and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised at the tariff - £49 for a twin-bedded room including breakfast. I really hadn't expected to find such a reasonable price for a stay in London!
It would have been nice to have had a lift to take us up the flight of stairs to the 2nd floor, but I do appreciate that in a building of this nature it might be difficult to engineer such a thing.
I most certainly will use the Cardiff Hotel for future trips to London and will once again make my booking online which facilitated matters no end.

Good stuff: The size of the room and beds, the friendly staff at the breakfast, the excellent cleaning of the rooms, the location.
Bad stuff: The mold and cockroaches in the bathroom, the noises from the breakfast room in the morning (the room was in the basement), the sound of the TV not working.
Overall: Perhaps hotels in Finland have a higher standard when it comes to moderately and low-priced rooms, but the hotel did not quite meet our expectations. It really felt like living in a basement, but the rooms upstairs might have been completely different.

Good stuff: Clean, nicely decorated, good value, nice staff, good breakfast, calm and quiet location.
Bad stuff: Poor hot water supply in shower, poor TV-reception.
Overall: Overall very nice. At last I've found a good hotel in London at a nice, quiet square. I'll be back!
