Bad stuff: Breakfast was appalling. It is billed as breakfast on the website but when you get there you get a paper cup of coffee, a bun in a bag and no seat. No option given for full breakfast via web and charge was over the top for whay you get
Overall: room is tiny and spartan. THis is over billed as a 4 star hotel

Good stuff: Breakfast-to-go was lovely and suited our requirements for the weekend.
Bad stuff: Room far too small. I think we were put in a room meant for single occupancy as I had to climb over my husband to get out of the bed.
Overall: Overall hotel ideally situated but would need upgrade to room if staying there in future.

Good stuff: Centrally located hotel. Modern in design.
Bad stuff: Poor quality soap and shampoo in the room.
Overall: Clean, centrally located hotel in the heart of London. The room was clean and functional. The price per night was very reasonable.

Good stuff: Location, value for money, room facilities
Bad stuff: lack of trouser press - shower as opposed to bath (but that's my fault as I should have checked prior to booking)
Overall: The hotel was very easy to find. Having a split bedroom was useful as I was able to work in the separate area easier than if it had been one single area. I would have preferred a bath rather than a shower ...(but that's my fault as I should have checked prior to booking). No complaints about room. Checking in may have been easier if there was one single queueing system.

Good stuff: I found the room to be clean and comfortable.

Good stuff: It is convienent for the west end.
Bad stuff: The room was absolutely freezing cold, in fack a number of guests complained on check out with regard to the room. I will be writing to the hotel to complain again about this. I think a number of guests will be writing to the hotel. I didn't really enjoy staying at the hotel this time round to be honest.
Overall: I would have like to known that the Giles Hotel heating systems is being updated and replaced, that is what reception had told us when we had asked about turning up the heat in the hotel. I currently am coming down with the flu because of inadequate heating in the hotel.

Good stuff: Location. It was close to a venue that I was visiting (The Mean Fiddler)
Bad stuff: Very cramped single room. Only one pillow. Despite the high price, breakfast wasn't included.
Overall: Very convenient location for theatres and West-End, and this was my only reason for choosing this hotel as we had a lot of luggage to handle late at night.
The single rooms were extremely cramped and had only one pillow, and when you consider that breakfast wasn't included in the price, it was NOT good value for money. The lack of air conditioning (again, surprising at this price) made it necessary to sleep with the window all night and be subjected to the racket from the street below. The 'cooked' buffet breakfast was barely lukewarm, and at nearly ten quid, not worth the (extra) money.
I recommend this hotel only for its location, and for no other reason.
