Good stuff: the location
Bad stuff: the room was in the basement and freezing cold
Overall: if we where staying in the basement the sink had no plug and the heater was far too small - it was so cold though we had plenty of tea and coffee to help warm us up the whole hotel needs a lick of paint and modernising - it looks quite shabby in appearance - very old fashioned the breakfast room is far to small and over crowded - i thought the breakfast would include meat and cheese with it being continental

Good stuff: Apart from very courteous staff - very little. Sorry.
Bad stuff: Single room accomodation is barely adequate as regards space - especially in the en-suite, the layout for which is poorly designed. The shower wet virtually the whole of the en-suite area. Also the toilet seat was the wrong size (far too small/loose) for the bowl. This needs to be looked at.
Overall: I was surprised that the central heating was not available at all times. It seemed to be only switched on late at night and was off by morning. As London was freezing the weekend that I stayed this was not a good advert. Perhaps because of the rationed heating it came as no great surprise to find the shower was only barely lukewarm at 9.00a.m. Heating and hot water should be available at all times. The breakfast room was shabby. Overall I was disapointed with this hotel.

Good stuff: Great location, friendly and efficient staff
Overall: I guess the only drawback was the railway line outside our window. However we were always so tired after sightseeing that we slept well despite the noise.

Good stuff: Basic but comfortable and clean.
Bad stuff: The area where people have breakfast, which is a bit small.
Overall: The hotel has an excellent location, very helpful staff, the rooms are basic but very comfortable. The only thing I would have changed is the breakfast area, which is too small for such a hotel.

Good stuff: Nice and clean hotel with kind staff. Good breakfast.
Bad stuff: Much noise from trains. Top (2nd) floor without a fire escape.
Overall: The hotel was actually very nice, but due to trains passing very close to it (under it?) there was very much noise, also through the night. The staff was friendly and helpful. If it had not been for the trains, we would definitely recommend it to others.
