Good stuff: The accomodation was clean, and was convienient for the tube stations, and was good value for money.

Bad stuff: We felt that the room would have benefited by having tea/coffee making facilities.

Overall: Booking was easy; staff was very friendly; room was very clean, though the single room I had was quite small and the shower facilities (though clean) was very cramped. Those drawbacks, however, are more than compensated for by the proximity to my place opf research, the British Library.

Good stuff: Good location, near tube station. Easy to find.

Bad stuff: Not as clean as past visits. Staff ask daily when I'm leaving. Seems they would know this based on my reservation and payment of stay.

Overall: a little bit expensive

Good stuff: Clean adequate room. Shower and toilet en-suite. Television provided.

Bad stuff: For a cheap overnight stay you couldn't get better.

Overall: If I wanted to stay overnight in London I would have no hesitation in going back. It's a cheap and cheerful hotel. Friendly staff. Very clean. Basic room but with everything you need. What more could you want??

Bad stuff: Attention to detail: 2 out of 3 lights didn't work. TV remote control was broken, though was easily replaced at reception

Good stuff: I was impressed with the location and the overall look of the hotel. I have stayed in Kings Cross in the past and I admit that I was worried about the location, however the Howard Winchester is in a nice area and we felt safe walking back from the station at night.

Bad stuff: Everything exceeded our expectations. I would only improve on the beds (although compfortable) they are a bit old. The shower nozzle ran like a hose rather than a shower. The room in general was great! We liked the modern colours.

Overall: Well from the previous reviews I read before booking the Howard Winchester I felt that it was the best for my price range. After staying at the hotel I am very satisfied and look forward to staying again. The room we stayed in was a nice size and very compfortable. I would suggest providing coffee making facilities and an additional power socket as there is only one for the TV. These are the only improvements I would have appreciated...however too petty to really complain about.

Overall: Room smelt as if closed up for a long time, I think due to the carpet which smelled of stale smoke

Overall: I have stayed in budget hotels before so I know that they are basic and I don't expect much but hygene is one thing that I do expect. The Howard winchester is simply unclean. In my room there was mould growing around the window, the any surface you ran your finger across was filthy, there were stains on th bed covers and the wall paper. It is dirty and I'm suprised I didn't catch anything. Also the attitude of one member of staff was quite shocking. An old Italian woman who asks whos response to a complaint about the central heating not working was to open a window. she would also moan if she had to open the entrance door for you and ask what are you doing back at this time or what are you doing, and she sits and glares at you while you eat your breakfast.

Overall: I should have known that the hotel is noisy and meant mainly for young travellers.

Good stuff: Hotel was clean, good location, good staff.

Bad stuff: Room was small but typical for London.

Bad stuff: I would like to have a chair or some hooks on the wall where you couldhang up my clothes

Good stuff: The hotel was quaint and very clean and very close to transport. The breakfast was great as was the ascerbic service from the old lady serving - very amusing.

Bad stuff: all London is expensive so relatively speaking this was good value, but in comparison to Australia its expensive

Overall: Overall we enjoyed our stay. Great breakfast, clean room, friehndly service and we had a good sleep.
